Jiujiang Petrochemical's 890,000-tonne-per-year aromatics project generates 737.5 tonnes per hour of low-temperature heat transfer water at approximately 115°C, requiring cooling. The original process necessitated either recirculating cooling water or energy-intensive discharge of residual heat into the atmosphere.

This project optimises the original process flow by eliminating the need for circulating cooling water or air coolers. The heat transfer water is directed into an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) waste heat power generation unit, which utilises the residual heat from the hot water to generate electricity. The unit has a designed power generation capacity of 2428 kW, simultaneously reducing electricity consumption associated with circulating cooling water or air coolers.
